About the client
GROHE is a global company that retails bathroom solutions and kitchen faucets.
The client of this project was the HR Department of the Danish branch, which initiated and developed the concept.
About the projects
GROHE is owned by LIXIL EMENA, and every year the organizations host a competition within all companies called ‘LIXIL Community Day’. Members of the Danish branch developed the story, and WIISUEL was responsible for illustrating and setting up the layout for the children’s books.

A purposeful csr project
For GROHE’s ‘LIXIL Community Day’ in 2018, Rikke Mohr called me a summer evening and asked if I could draw a dolphin – that was the first step of what turned out to be quite a successful CSR project. That year, we made the first children’s book, then the second in 2019, and the third in 2020. The intention of the books is to teach kids about the importance of taking care of our water resources, and the significant role water plays on our planet. Illustration and layout of the book were done by WIISUEL.
Adapting the concept for covid-19
The book was printed and delivered to kindergartens around the world, with the second book being translated into 19 languages. For the 3rd book, however, we faced a challenge with printing and delivery, since it wouldn’t be in line with the COVID-19 restrictions. That led us to create book reading videos so that the kids could experience the new book from home. WIISUEL edited the videoes, and also filmed the Danish version. The 2nd book even got distributed to Norway’s biggest Kindergarten-organizations and was printed in 18,000 copies.
Instilling pride in a department
The first book won that year’s LIXIL EMENA prize for best CSR project. This put the Danish branch on the map of the huge organization, once again with its original idea. The project had a clear creative voice of its employees, and it was this voice that WIISUEL wanted to enhance, taking the project from an idea to a finished visual product. GROHE has since been a returning client, not only due to the other books, but most of all due to the way WIISUEL work – we facilitate the creative process, from start to finish, and vague ideas are enough. We’ll figure out, together, what to do, and how to do it.
